A Personal Journey

As many people do, I struggled internally most of my adult life with career disappointments, the pressures of our culture and often became overwhelmed by those frustrations to the point I felt there was something seriously wrong with the way I was living my life. I finally got to where I had enough of what life was dishing out to me and felt there had to be a better way to live with less stress and more contentment or I was facing a complete cave in. Many people take a variety of mind numbing drugs to help them glide through their lives. I knew the route of sensory depriving prescriptions was not an option for me. I had often heard that we are capable of healing ourself from within but I had no idea of how to go about it. Initiating those thoughts of "wanting" and making a commitment to feeling better about my life was my first self-empowering step towards a greater spiritual awareness.

My Christian background only left me with a "been there done that" feeling towards finding relief through organized religions. Researching alternative self-help books narrowed the focus of my interest to metaphysical related topics. Much of it was a little too dreamy for my sensibilities, but a number of other authors appealed to my reasoning. Who I found especially interesting were writers who suggested we were on the cusp of a change. What I was looking for was some means of obtaining contentment within myself in the "here and now". Before starting on this path I had never heard of the term "Big Shift" or "Grand Awakening" but I was slightly familiar with the Mayan 2102 prophesy. Through more extensive research I found there was a lot more going on than the inconveniences that were whizzing around in my head, that my inner and the much greater outer world were directly related but not in my previously accepted mindset.

I have always believed that we are a part of a much bigger picture but I was now taking it to a whole new level. The more I explored, I found overlapping and related information which supported the conclusion that we are currently in a state of transition, of unbelievable events as never experienced by humans and we had homework to do before the "big test". I was connecting the dots and saw that for better or worse, we are all in this together but yet travel alone. I was beginning to see that I would have to commit to my own inner spiritual development if I was going to find the contentment I was longing for. This would involve raising my consciousness by considering my world in a different perspective than I previously lived. One of the important things I learned early on is that the transition we are living in is gaining strength and momentum with every day.

There are many guru's and teachers who are selling themselves as "the one" with the promise to set you on the path to enlightenment. The issue for me is that a fair number of them sound like a rehashing of the dogma and trappings of main stream religion. Many of the so called "enlightened" ones sugar coat an idea of "all will be fine as long as you follow me," which should serve as a red light to anyones consideration. I've remained somewhat skeptical until the source of the information addresses topics which I feel are somewhat tangible and not ala-Peter Pan. I've come to understand that only through intense personal introspection will anyone open themselves to a more meaningful higher consciousness. I have also accepted the fact that what I wish to have can't be obtained quickly but is an evolving process that requires patience.

A few years ago I saw Dr. Wayne Dyer on Public Television and shortly after read a coupe of his books including "The Power of Intention." His easy to follow concepts and style of presentation introduced me to the idea of working with my "inner self". The internet also became my key research assistant, pun intended, leading me to subjects and resources many of which I had never heard of before. Eckhart Tolle is another author with insights on how to concentrate on the present and not worry about the possibility of a future event which may not happen. "Most humans are never fully present in the now, because unconsciously they believe that the next moment must be more important than this one. But then you miss your whole life, which is never not now. And that's a revelation for some people: to realise that your life is only ever now." Tolle argues that "most of us spend most of our lives with a constant "voice in our heads", that judges and interprets reality, and determines our emotional reactions; if you doubt this, it's probably because you're so fully identified with the voice that you can't see the wood for the trees. There are occasional pauses in the brain-chatter - when gasping in awe at beautiful scenery, doing intense physical exercise, or making love, say - but mostly, we're lost in thought. We're especially lost in thoughts of the past and the future. I found a used hardback copy of his "Living in the Now" which at times I found to be slow reading but well worth the concentration.

Many authors today work in the area of self help since it has become very trendy and profitable. With so many titles to choose from, it is often difficult to select those that may be more helpful than others. For me it came down to their readability and writers who stay below my tolerance for BS because many of them can spread it pretty thick. Take the time, be picky, scan for the authors that suit your personal taste. I visited local metaphysical book stores, read book dust jackets then selected new and used titles that I often consumed in just a few days. Used half priced books are a great bargain. I've read a varied but focused scope of subjects which now amount to dozens of titles. From archaeological evidence of previous civilizations and alien gods as described in "The 12th Planet" by Zachariah Sitchin to accounts of the mystical powers found at Mount Shasta in "Unveiled Mysteries". From a self-guided study in "Opening to Channel" by Roman / Packer to how quantum physicists explain the power of the individual in focused group thought in Lynne McTaggart's "The Intention Experiment". McTaggart reveals that everyone in the world is interconnected on a quantum level and with focused intent we have the ability to influence world events, to heal ourselves and in a sense, make the world as we wish it to be. Consciousness, or "mind", has the ability to change physical matter. This turns Newton's Laws on their head. Quantum physics is beginning to see that reality is not fixed, but open to influence.

Over the past few years I have worked with a number of very gifted people near where I live in Colorado. Over the internet, I found James Pinkel, an Intuitive Spiritual Healer. With James help we identified and began healing one of a few long held emotional wounds. I also learned from him an enjoyable meditation to cleanse the chakras of the body which I still use today. Cristof Guerin is an Integrative Healer and DNA Reactivation practitioner who also helped me make much progress. Audrey Hanson is a channel who introduced me to my Guardian Angles and the wisdom of insightful information they can provide. I'm grateful to Bonnie Sprague and her abilities with Life Energy Flow-TAI YI (LFE). LFE creates a balance in the human energy system of mind, body and spirit. Using meridian intersection points in the body LFE is channeled into that grid and enables energy to remain in the body to effect on going healing. We are the healers of our own bodies and these treatments provide great assistance in our intent. Tami Urbanek is a very gifted Medium / Clairvoyant who has provided me with clarity and guidance in assisting me to identify and heal Core Belief issues which are old/negative beliefs and programs which are passed from generation to generation. If we adopt negative beliefs during childhood, and most of us do, they keep us from achieving what we can in life and in the spiritual development of my soul's purpose in this life, my "here and now" as I mentioned earlier. It is pretty evident by this group of Lightworkers that I do not believe in one-stop-shopping when understanding or working on the complexities of our "human condition".

Through the referral from a friend, whom I did not know was also on their spiritual path, I was introduced to Hossca Harrison. Hossca is a medium for Jonah, an entity who is a spokesperson for a group of 76 entities. Through periodic conversations and the guidance of his teachings I've become more introspective of who I am and what I can be in my life. His teachings prompt all of us to accept complete responsibility for who and what we are. Jonah speaks to the heart, bringing a teaching of freedom, responsibility and unconditional love to assist us in discovering who we truly are. Jonah often says that "the Intent is the building block of the outcome" and "if you seek to please or impress another person by your spiritual journey, you will be wasting your time". So, an appetite for learning, a dedication to the process and a desire to your hearts knowing is critical. This is your life. No one can do this for us and we can't do this for the benefit of anyone else.

We all hold many attitudes, some healthy and others not so healthy. Those attitudes exist on both the conscious and sub-conscious level. With guidance and serious introspection we can access and see those attitudes we truly know are not doing us any benefit. For myself, I see it as peeling the layers of an onion where a slightly different layer is exposed beneath. With each layer I learn a little more about myself, issues which need to be addressed, recognize abilities which I have suppressed and then make new choices to greater fulfillment in this life.

With the gradual raising of my spiritual awareness I find there is that much more I want to learn and develop to reach my next level of consciousness. It may sound like a cliche but by maintaining the curiosity of a child who sees without judgment, meaningful information will seem to fall into your lap. Allow your heart to open to your higher self and like a magnet you will be attracted to read the right books and associate with like minded people who are willing to offer and exchange insightful information. I have found that gradual progress and understanding come as I move forward. I have a deep dedication to the purpose of my inner self and am honestly starting to more fully enjoy my life. Every one of us, regardless of our past, can start on a path of raising our consciousness. There are significant life-changes in store for all of us in the near future. Evolving, growing and enjoying is key to our very existence. As Jonah often notes in his teachings, "allow the journey to be the experience".

Grateful for the progress I have made so far on this path I am providing links below to the lightworkers I have found to be genuine in their intent and gifted in abilities. Their mentioning here is not intended as an endorsement in your pursuit of greater awareness. The intent is that the information assist you in locating your own personal coach or teachers. Your experience will be different from mine and that of anyone else's. Our individual hearts contain the truth of such insights, all we need to do is to recognize and accept them. There are many qualified sources in the world waiting to be of assistance in this time of radical change. These are included here as a point of departure in your personal journey.

Too much time is spent pointing fingers at the past. It is what we do right now that will determine how our next "past" is reflected upon. As a species, our civilization is in uncharted territory but we do have the power to change what is within ourselves to prepare for our future. Meaning, a more self-loving care for our personal inner spiritual health will raise the richness of our lives and have positive effects on others around us also. We are responsible to ourselves above all else and what we create is infectious. It has been proven, that mass consciousness can create positive as well as not so positive effects upon all of society. So, I guess we actually can affect our "past" by what we do right now.
